Geyers
acoustic–program:
The Geyers Acoustic Show...is a musical
journey through the last eight centuries in a traditional style. Songs
about love, freedom of speech, voluptuaries amongst the clergy or women
hosting fleas are presented on a conglomerate of exotic and ancient
instruments like the Swedish Nyckelharpa, the hurdy gurdy, German, French,
Italian, Spanish and Scottish bagpipes, crummhorns, cowhorns, dulcimer,
lutes, mandolines, Irish Bouzouki (to name but a few!).Middle age or
Renaissance dances and other traditional instrumental make the audiences
move at least one of their feet along to the rhythm of the music. Rumours
have it some have even been seen moving their complete bodies. Another
essential part of these shows is the inbetween-songs talk. And those
familiar with the Geyers or the individual musicians know that Thomas
Roth does employ irony as his chief tool, the witty and sarcastic tongue
of Georg being a great complement to this, whith Albert's stoical and
matter-of-fact manner rounding off the verbal part of the shows.
